About Time Portal Passages
TIME PORTAL PASSAGES is a collection of articles which can provide additional information to
the historical researcher and wargamer. Rather than a magazine format with articles on several periods, we have chosen to focus each issue on a specific era or topic in a sourcebook format. I always hated to have only two parts out of three or four on a subject and not be able to locate the remaining parts. These will be written as general support guides and are not intended to support any particular rules set.
Each issue will be identified by content topic and a product identification code. For example JA-99 indicates issue January 1999 and if it is a later revised edition then an (R) will be added to the code. Update sections will be included in later issues for the articles in earlier issues.
The Works in Progress series in particular will be subject to updates. This series, noted in the product coded with (WIP), is devoted to complex subjects which are difficult to research and may have additional data becoming available over time. The two main topics in this series is 1. Dictionary of Ancient and Medieval which has 100s of entries and is currently over a hundred pages in size. The Dictionary will be devided into several sections averaging 32 pages each, 2. Military Chronology and supplemental data on Native Nation Warfare from 1600-1900. As stated, this topic will focus on the military history of the Native Nations of North America. Not only will Native vs European/American conflicts be cited but also conflicts among Native Nations will be cited. It will be divided into regional sections.
Of course we will continue to publish our easy to play rules for historical miniatures. Currently we are working on the following systems:
WAR EAGLES- A 1:35 scale Napoleonic rules with each stand representing a company.
FIRE & DISCIPLINE- A 1:10 scale set of rules which can be used for any 1700s non-Europe
war. The initial army lists are for North America (French and Indian War and in particular the
American Revolution). Each stand represents a company or firing platoon/division.
GLORY- Our no-playing card-drawing man to man skirmish warfare system for 1740-1900
conflicts.
INDUANAS, COLONELS & EMIRS- Our 1:10 scale H.G.Wells nominated system for Colonial
warfare between 1850-19 10 is under review for revision and re-release. Currently only the
basing will be changed with the mechanics remaining intact.
MEDALS OF VALOR- Our man to man skirmish system for World War One and Two.
