We know the early Indian armies mostly through mythic sagas. The Aryan Hindus made themselves the masters of India as they fought constatly with their neighboring tribal kingdoms. Inian was open to invaders from the northwest and there was never a dearth of opponents. The Indians fought against both the Scythians and Darius' Persians, with chariots and elephants supported (and supporting) longbow and two-handed sword armed close order foot. This is a favourite with many gamers. The Indians have everything-cavalry, elephants, chariots and foot. There is plenty of scope for tactical experimentation. Remember that the elephants do not disorder the Indian cavalry and chariots. They can freely support each other, unlike other armies. The most successful Indian armies utilised the vast longbow power to neutralise a portion of the enemy army while riding down any and all with the elephants, chariots and cavalry. This is a great army for any level of player. Enemies: Indians, Early Hu, Scythian and Early Achaemenid Persian. More Chariot Armies For Ancient Warfare
