review by Todd Fisher
An excellent new line has been introduced to this country by Alliance Miniatures. This well proportioned, well cast and historically accurate line was sculpted in New Zealand and is being manufactured here. The line initially is limited to the late 14th, early 15th century, western European soldiers; but deals will with all this. There is little here that is groundbreaking in animation but the poses you have come to expect are all here. With a few exceptions the figures are all open-handed allowing for conversion possibilities. I for one, who have had more spears than I care to recount turned into pretzels, welcome the opportunity to use piano wire! There are a couple of biclower figures that could be armed with a variety of weapons. He would make a good slinger, longbowman or even an infantryman. This line is comparable in size to the Essex 25mm and is generally flashfree. The line is soon to be expanded. it's my hope that a Great Sword and a Bastard Sword are added to the weapon packs as these common weapons are as yet unavailable; the exception is a dismounted knight with the sword molded into the figure. This new line should be a welcome addition to any 25mm Medieval Army. More Reviews
