The start of the American Revolution as written by Victor Brooks describes the opening of the war and the battles at Concord, Lexington and continues into Bunker hill and the evacuation of Boston. Reading this will generate an earnest desire to run the whole affair as a mini-campaign, it did me. Full of interesting anecdotes from both sides, one wonders in retrospect why the British thought they could win in that theatre. A great read and scenario generator for any AMR (AWI) buff. The main text is supplemented by sidebars, detailed orders of battle and specially commissioned maps. 50 illustrations, maps, ISBN 1-58097-007-9, $27.95.
