Pete Panzeri and others ran the GM Help Desk, which offered things such as carts to help GMs tote their terrain and figures around. I think that's a pretty good idea. They gave away hats and shirts and so on (well, they were from previous shows) in appreciation for the GMs efforts. There was also the aforementioned streamer and best-of-show awards, too. I saw one streamer given out and one hat presented, so I know they were active. I like the streamer awards. It gives the GMs something if their efforts are especially noteworthy. That's not to diminish the felt-terrain and a couple stands type games versus Museum of Art dioramas (and believe you me that my games resemble felt-terrain), and the awards were specifically not based purely on terrain--you can always tell a special game by the folks hootin' and hollerin' aruond it. Anyway, thumbs up for HMGS for starting this little extra service for the convention. More Cold Wars 2002
