Swordfish Attack and
Lord of the Rings Games

by Russ Lockwood

Swordfish Attack

There was a great layout of Taranto harbor, circa 1940, and a wave of Swordfish biplanes out to sink a few Italian ships in this 1940 scenario. Man, was that pretty. I especially loved the sea of barrage balloons protecting the harbor. Post show, I just read an article about the attack. Quite an achievement.

Lord of the Rings

OK, I'm a LOTR fan, had read the books many years ago and saw the new movie twice (and the old Bakshi movie too, but I wasn't crazy about that one), so I guess I shouldn't complain that there was an entire room full of LOTR gaming, plus a 6-foot-tall "bridge" scenario (I'm going to guess Balrog included) outside. I have no idea how it played, but I wandered in to watch for a bit, and did find the terrain a bonus.
