300 Creek warriors conduct raids into South Carolina from their British base at Savannah Ga. Unknown : Penobscot, Maine/Mass. A British raiding party engages a Patriot force including a company of Abenaki-Penobscot. Jan 6-9 : Fort Morris (Sunbury), Georgia. British force (2000) under Prevost attack the fort garrisoned by 200 regular troops. Mar 3 : Briar Creek , Georgia. A BR force (inc Florida Rangers-50; Boyd's SC Loyal Militia-200; SC Loyal Arty-2 guns) defend against a patriot force trying to capture Augusta. Apr : Patriot expedition to destroy the Chickamauga branch of the Cherokees who continued to raid Patriot settlements. The expedition included a few ambushes and skirmishes. Apr 20 : Raid on Onondaga capitol. Patriots under Van Schaick burn the town. Jul 21 or 22 : Minisink Ford New Jersey. Patriot militia (120) from Goshen were chasing Brant's command of (60) Mohawks and (27) Johnson's Greens but was ambushed and destroyed. Jul 31 : Sullivan Expedition begins. A large Patriot force (2500) attacks the Iroquois towns. Aug 11- Sept 14 : Allegheny River Towns, Pennsylvania. Patriots (600) under Col Brodhead attacks ten Indian towns in the Allegheny Valley. Aug 29 : Chemung River (Newton) New York. The major battle of the Sullivan expedition. After this most resistance was in the form of ambushes and skirmishes. Sullivan's force (now 4000+) defeated the consolidated force of 1200 Iroquois + Butler's Rangers + Johnson's Greens. Sept 17 : Baton Rouge (LA), West Florida. Spanish troops capture Baton Rouge and other British posts on the Mississippi River. The garrisons included some local Indians. Oct 4 : Licking River, Ky. S. Girty and Ohio Valley Indians ambush and destroy a militia force. Nov 19 : Spencer Hill Ga.
