GEO-MAP is an innovative map system designed specifically to complement GEO-HEX terrain. The ten colored map sheets are divided into two sets of five, one representing uplands and lakes, the other the course of a major river. Additionally, each map depicts major terrain features such as large forests, hills, ridges, streams and road networks. Particular features such as towns, railroads or bridges are absent so that the maps can be utilized for virtually any time period. To aid the wargamer, two hexagon grids have been superimposed overthe maps. The smaller grid conformsto the actual GEO-HEX shapes while the larger are used for movement. This allows you to simulate both strategic and tactical movement. Also included is a set of miniature maps which you can photocopy and arrange in any combination to depict your terrain. Finally, the kit includes ten sheets of heavy duty plastic overlay material which can be marked with local terrain information. The maps are numbered for easy reference and the instruction sheets are clear and concise with step-by-step instructions for using the kit. If you own and regularly use GEO-HEX terrain, this is a must buy. We have utilized the maps in a recent Napoleonic campaign and the transition from map to tabletop is not only easy but also completely accurate. Using the overlay sheets, the umpire can add towns, villages, or whatever suits the period. The current pack is designed for use with the basic terrain set. GEO-HEX indicates that future map packs will incorporate their other terrain features such as the sunken road set. The map packs are avialable from GEO-HEX. More Reviews
