Frontier Miniatures

15mm Boxer Rebellion

by Bob Beattie

Not satisfied with producing the largest selection of high quality Boxer Rebellion figures in 25mm, Atley Turney and his associates at Frontier Miniatures (7343 Branding Iron, Canutillo, TX 79835, 917-877-3048) have now released the largest selection of high quality Boxer Rebellion figures in 15mm.

In fact, the selection in 15mm is even larger than that in 25mm. Gamers can do theSiege ofthe Peking Legation on a grand scale in a small area using the 15mm figues. (Frontier will sell you material to build the Legation, too.) The Chinese range is as complete as could be. Boxers in a variety of poses with various weapons (5 different packs), regulars including Kensus and Tigermen (2 packs), artillery crew, and cavalry (regular and irregular), plus a special offer pack. The allies are also complete with all nationalities' infantry, sailors, cavalry, and artillery represented. Some 40 different packs are available, including one for the allies at the Peking Legation with appropriate artillery. The figures themselves are exquisite, to say the least; well sculpted in the right proportions. This campaign is an excellent one for those interested in getting into Victorian Era Colonial gaming. It has the color and variety of the Napoleonic era, and is not the civilization vs. primitive peoples situation that many colonial games represent. (Unless you consider the Allies the primitive ones.) Frontier is offering a 48-hour turnaround service for these figures. Great figures, fast service, reasonable price, an interesting game... need I say more?
