GHQ continues to add to its Micronauts line of warship miniatures. The latest addition to the World War One line, the Great War Micronauts collection, is the British battlecruiser HMS Tiger [GWB21]. Tiger was the last of the pre-war battlecruiser designs and paid the same penalty for its speed. Tiger served at both Dogger Bank and Jutland. The Great War line currently contains only British and German models, as time goes by this should expand as the original WW2 line did. The Micronauts line of World War Two ships is now expanding into the auxiliary ships that are needed to make a navy run. The latest addition is the American seaplane tender AV-4 USS Curtiss [USN69]. She is one of a class of two tenders that could operate PBY Catalina flying boats from unimproved island bases. They served throughout the war in the Pacific. The auxiliaries make it possible to do scenarios other than the typical "line up the battleships and slug it out" type. They are perfect for convoy or air attack scenarios. Both models come individually packed and cost $10.50 each. The castings are up to the usual GHQ level and are free of seams. The only cleaning is to remove a bit of sprue from some of the pieces. The package includes a diagram that shows where all the parts go. One thing that GHQ does that sets them a step above the rest is that they include extras for the "fiddly bits" like turrets and kingposts that can be ruined if your knife slips. The USS Curtiss includes several Catalinas that can be used to dress up the model. Assembly is quick and easy. Another solid release from GHQ.
