Tanks of World War II, by Collins/Jane's (1995), is an unusual little book, and I do mean little. The 4.5" by 3.5" format and small print will send you running for your reading glasses. However, despite the size, the 255-page book is jam-packed with information. It covers over 100 of the tanks used in WWII and gives a brief run-down of the development and tactics used by the various types of armored vehicles. Individual tanks each receive two pages on the development and production of the vehicle. In addition, there is a picture of each vehicle and a sidebar that gives the various important statistics of the tank. This book is really quite good despite its small size. It will come in handy when playing SSI's Steel Panthers or for miniature battles. Finally, the $7.95 price tag can't be beat. More Industry News
