High Seas Fleet in 1756: 24 ships of the line, 12 frigates, 3 brigs, 4 Prahme (gunboats), 3 bomb ketches, 9 galleys, and 7 galliots. Changes 1757 to 1762: One additional ship of the line was added, raising total displacement to 50,000 tonnes by 1760. Only a small cruising squadron of 6 ships of the line and 2 frigates was actually fitted out in 1756. This was increased to 11 ships of the line, 5 frigates, 2 gunboats and 4 galleys in 1757. Thereafter, the main strike force appears to have been 8 ships of the line plus support vessels. Army Fleet (Galley Flotilla): 57 galleys, 4 half galleys, and 4 Prahme (oared gunboats). Personnel were divided into 4 battalions: Norrland, Roslag, Finland and Naval Artillery. A galley was generally 130 feet long and 20 feet wide, propelled by 22 pairs of oars and auxilliary sails, and equipped with a few light cannon. The gunboats had a deeper draught and were less manouverable, but carried 8 to 18 heavier guns on each broadside. More 7YW Swedish Army
