Herbert Fairlie Wood (an ancient Corgi of a 1967 Macdonald hardback) Colonel Wood is a very proud Canadian indeed so what better to cover than the first major Canadian victory. Quite correctly the fighting itself (which was not the walk-over I have seen it portrayed as) covers very little of the book. The greater part of the text covers the two armies and the preparations. This is not the Blackadder Army but something much more professional in approach. Not only did the Canadians have great pride and continuity in their forces but also they appealed to some of the best British officers (having Ironside and Brooke serving with you indicates an ability to pick stars). Maps a bit crappy so make sure you have one from another source. More Old Duffer's Book Corner (book reviews)
