Armament: 76mm gun, no secondary armament Speed: 28 mph This vehicle was not well-loved by the Red Army. They referred to it as the Sukami (bitch). It was not in widespread service till 1943 and its gun was no longer powerful enough to face the heavier armor on the newer German tanks. That led to the Soviets switching the SU-76's role from tank destroyer to infantry support gun. Most of the SU-76's produced were open- topped vehicles. A large number of former Soviet SU-76's were given to the North Koreans and they were used in fairly large numbers during the Korean War. More Aberdeen Proving Grounds
