Aberdeen Proving Grounds

German Jagdpanzer

By Robert Runnels

Armament: 88mm main gun and a hull- mounted machine gun

Speed: 35 mph

The Jagdpanther was an excellent combination of speed, wellsloped armor and an awesome main gun. Probably the finest tank destroyer developed during WWII.

Note the nasty white color applied to the Jagdpanther and other tanks in this article. It does help to control corrosion, but isn't very realistic or visually appealing. The plan is to put all of these tanks in an ultrasonic bath to remove all the paint and rust, then repaint them accurately. The first tank on the lot to get the treatment will be the French Somua tank.
