TURN RESULTS FOR 2-3-00

The Government of the Khedive was toppled by Major Ali Pasha representing the who Eypgtians hate the dual administration of their country by the French and English, the domination of the Turco-Circassian ruling class who have kept them down, and the heavy taxation on the Fellahin. The British army leaves Malta and lands in Dar as Salaam (one square west of the city). Major Fitzgerald is in acting command. He sends the following letter to the Bey.

Dear Bey Ali,

You probably know why we are here. England has sent this military force to demonstrate to you and the rest of Dar as Salaam that we are your betters. This does not represent my thoughts on this matter. I do not wish to harm any of the people of Dar as Salaam. I am more concerned with the French. I feel they have something up their sleeve that neither you nor I will like. So I propose a deal. If you allow my forces to peacefully occupy Dar as Salaam, I promise we will not harm Dar as Salaam or any of its inhabitants. If you resist, I will be obligated to take the city by force. I will let you decide...
