BRIGADIER GENERAL FOTHERWOOD-SMYTH VC.

Well there can be nothing more a chap could ask for than the opportunity to "Pig stick" some more blasted fuzzy wuzzy heathens on behalf of the Great Queen Empress.

Oh-Ho…. Another fine fox hunt …what!!!

And a full Brigade too. After all those years as a passed over captain of Cavalry eking out a meager existence on the North West Frontier, you had the luck to run into the right lady and married well. Of course her impending motherhood helped cut corners and get the thing approved rather quickly, but since then she and her family have let nothing stand in the way of your promotion and further advancement.

Of course it would have been nice to have gained Brigade Rank in some better location, but the Viceroy, (Fine chap) Uncle of your wife, had promised you the very first position to become available and here it is. One must just be damn grateful and get on with it.

Now they say that BUGAWANISTAN is a horrible place and the natives even worse….but what matter!! You are going there to kill them anyway.

So you are determined to have a jolly fine little war. Get some medals, earn some glory and perhaps rise even quicker to full General than your sweet little wife has planned.

You will be the first to volunteer for everything. You will be the first to offer help in everything. You will be the first to strike at the enemy at every opportunity. In fact you are determined to have a damn good time as a Brigadier General.

YOUR FORCE: INDIAN CAVALRY BRIGADE. Brigadier Fotherwood-Smythe VC.

    5th IRISH LANCERS. 4 squadrons under Colonel Bingwood.
    3rd BENGAL LANCERS. 4 squadrons under Colonel Harringworth

The STEAMSHIP SS CARNATION, has been provided to transport your force to shore. Unfortunately it can only carry one regiment at a time. You must therefore repair to the flagship (Victoria) at once and wait upon the pleasure of the General as to which of your two regiments will be first to board the CARNATION from the off shore transports.

You must seek from him what orders he has, then carry them out with enthusiasm.
