* Attacker Attrition. In addition to the listed result the attacker must eliminate 3 REs or reduce a division to cadre. These losses are not subject to the required losses rule (9J) However, the attacker is never required to loose more strength points than the total printed defense strength of the defending units. Ignore in Weather Zones A&G. Example: A German 12-10 Panzer division, 6-10 Mot Inf division and 4-3-8 PZ battalion attack a 4-6 Rifle division in a clear hex at 5:1 (+3). Rolling a 2 (=5) the result of DE* is obtained. The Rifle division is eliminated and the German player chooses to eliminate the battalion, whose attack strength is at least as great as the eliminated division. If the same result were obtained against a stack of two 4-6 Rifle divisions, the German Player could choose to reduce the motorized division to cadre, which counts as eliminating 3 REs, even though its strength is less than that of the Rifle divisions.

** Defender Attrition. In addition to the listed result the defender must eliminate 3 REs or reduce a division to cadre. If the hex is emptied of defending units the attacker may advance after combat. Ignore if all attacking units are out of supply or unsupported. Ignore in Weather zone A&G.

DA: Defender Annihilated. All Defending units are eliminated; divisions may not be reduced to cadre but are completely destroyed.

AH. As in the standard rules, except that surviving units or cadres are not required to retreat.
