This book was written by Frank Chadwick to expand the SPACE 1889 system to land, naval and aerial combat. You may feel that this is geared only to those interested in Science Fiction gaming. WRONG! There. are over 180 pages of army lists covering the historical Colonial Period armies of: Abyssinia, Afghanistan, American Mountain Indians, American Plains Indians, Argentina, Austria-Hungary, Belgium, The Boers, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burma, Canada, Chile, China, Dahome, Denmark, The Dervishes, Egypt, Equatoria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hawaii, The Herreros, India, Italy, Japan, The Khmer Empire, Mataheles, Malagasy, Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Portugal, Raheh's Empire, Rumania, Russia, Samorian Empire, Serbia, Siam, Spain, Tonkin, Turkey, United States of America, and The Zulus. In addition it also has Complete Siege Rules, Campaign Rules, and Naval Rules (with ratings for a number of historical gunboats). All are easily adaptable to "straight" historical games and a great reference resource well worth the $15 for these items alone. They are available from GDW, P.O. Box 1646, Bloomington, IL 61702-1646. I recommend this for the Wargame bookshelf of any Colonial Period Miniature Game. Reviewing Stand
