The opening of The Armory Museum of Military History was announced by Mr. William Priest, the curator of the institution. This Museum is located at 4149 Amos Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. It is openTuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is no admission fee. Children are most welcome and groups will be accommodated. The Museum contains memorabilia from all of the wars fought by the United States with examples of uniforms, hand weapons, artillery and artifacts. A highlight of the exhibits is a comprehensive collection of military miniature figures; these range from ancient Egyptian through the Medieval Ages and on to modern times, plus examples of the military of the future. On exhibit, side by side with the militaria, is an extensive display of historical simulation games representing the past, present and future. Housed within the Museum is an expanding military reference library; here one can find long out-of-print books of historical interest, maps and periodicals. Within the Museum is a gift shop where military games, miniatures and accessories representing all time periods on exhibit may be purchased. This non-profit museum is actively seeking associate members to attend seminars and lectures and join field trips to historical battlefields in the Mid-Atlantic region. At this time, the Museum offers a series of off-site, no-cost, illustrated lectures on different periods of American History to schools and interested groups.
