The dedicated Zulu War wargamer may get some additional variety from Imperial Figures' new 25mm Zulu War range, but most Colonial Era gamers will probably shy away from these figures due to their poor comparison to the major manufacturers' Zulu War offerings. Imperial's miniatures remind me very much of the figures which I started gaming with over 15 years ago; Scruby's and first generation Mini-Figs. The quality and quantity of engraving and detail is minimal while the poses are for the most part static and of limited animation. Casting quality is perhaps the best feature of Imperial Miniatures as there is virtually no flash or even mold lines to clean on the figures. The metal is also very flexible and soft which is an added extra bonus when dealing with overseas mail orders. Imperial Figures are available from 55a Leopold Road, Wimbledon, London, SW19 7JG, ENGLAND. The Reviewing Stand
