It is hard to believe that these figures have been produced by the same company that released the very over-sized French Foreign Legion figures (which are now off the market) a year ago. Falcon has a new sculptor and its own equipment now, so the production problems which plagued them with the French figures should not be repeated with this new range of German Southwest Africa figures. Though small, this new release of figures gives almost everything one would need to fight the Herero War. All that is really lacking is artillery and crews, which are in the works. Crisp detail and some dynamite poses highlight these figures which, I'd like to point out, scale in perfectly with Ral Partha and Mini-Figs. The German sailor and camel mounted Schutzetruppe are especially nice. The two Herero figures are equally suited for use as almost any type of "natives" who wear western clothing and are armed with rifles. Rating: Anatomy .8, Animation .8, Detail .9, Casting Quality .9, Variety .7 (but only because of the smallness of the campaign covered), TOTAL 4.1.
