Hinchliffe

25mm Sudan Campaign

By Lynn Bodin

For the Centenary of Gordon's mission to the Sudan, Hinchliffe has greatly expanded its 25mm Colonial wargame figure range. New ansar and Beja figures have been added as well as Egyptians and several new British. The British are all in the 1896-98 Reconquest uniforms and are armed with magazine rifles (including, incorrectly, the Guards Camel Corps).

Like all Hinchliffe figures, these are large 25mm scale. Arms and legs also tend to be on the slender side, though the old Hinchliffe problems of joints where they aren't supposed to be seems to have been pretty well eliminated. These will fit well with other Hinchliffe or other manufacturers' large 25mm figures (such as Essex), but they dwarf the more moderate 25mm figures such as Ral Partha and Mini-Figs. Rating: Anatomy .6, Animation.6, Detail .6, Casting Quality.9, Variety.8, TOTAL 3.5.
