Thoroughbred Figures

15mm War of 1812
Sea Eagle Range

by Jerry Lane

Thoroughbred has gotten bigger. This well-known manufacturer of 1/600 scale ACW naval models has added a new range. The Sea Eagles are 15mm War of 1812 naval models and crew figures. The initial models are USS Oneida and an American 2-gun lake galley. I saw these painted up and used in a game at Cold Wars and they are amazing.

These large scale ships require crew figures and 3 packs have been released. TB01 is a pack of 20 crewmen; most figures are armed as boarding parties with cutlass or musket. Officers and several figures, without bases and posed for climbing rigging, are also included. TB02 is a pack of 10 gunner figures, including officers. TB03 contains 10 US Marines, 8 figures are musket armed, 1 drummer and 1 officer. The figures are uniformly dressed and would not be usable as privateersmen but they are perfect US Navy crew for the 1812 period. The figures are well cast and clean with very little work needed to prepare. A little flash on the ends of weapons and some mold lines on a few legs are all that need to be worked on. The figures are a 15M on the Barrett scale.

Prices are $12.00 for TB01 and $6.00 for the smaller TB02 and TB03 packs. The ships are $55.00 for EN01 Oneida and $35.00 for EN02 2-gun galley.
