C. Froud and M. Holland have published an expanded group of army lists for the Biblical warfare era entitled "The Book of Hosts". These lists attempt to bring new research into play as well as breaking down existing army listings into more discrete time periods and expanding Allied contingents into full fledged army lists of their own. This will add more variety to what has become a popular ancient subperiod. The book is soft cover and includes 80 pages. There are 4 area maps, a uniform cross reference to "Armies of the Near East" for the more obscure troop types, a bibliography and 58 army lists from Old and Middle Kingdom Egyptian to Egyptian Revolt - 343BC. The lists are done in the typical WRG style and abbreviations although a glossary is included. This would appear to be a worthwhile investment for fans of this era. It is available from Wargames for $15. More Reviews
