The Crimean War 1853-56 by GA Embleton This is a paperback published in England by Almark. It contains 80 pages all together and is profusely illustrated with black and white drawings and photographs plus eight pages of color illustrations of uniforms. The text only covers 17 pages (minus several pictures) and about 7 of those contain a description of the causes of the war. Not a bad overview of the subject, though the $6.95 price tag seems a bit high. Saxon England by G.A. Embleton and D. H. Banting This is from the same publisher and of the same size and number of pages as the previous book above. Though well illustrated with black and white drawings and maps, and eight pages of color, there is more text in this work. It is an interesting and informative introduction to the history of England between 410 A.0 when the Romans left the Britons to fend for themselves. and 1066, when the Norman took over. It also sells for $6.95. Book Review
