VI Corps at Chancellorsville

Maryes Heights

by Steve Wilson

This should be considered a small 'warm up' for the main actions to come. The umpire should keep the battlefield 'tight' (2' x 2'). You may wish to consider this optional.

The Confederates may set up anywhere behind the stone wall. Their force consists of Barksdale's brigade and one battery.

The Union enters according to the following schedule:

9.00am One division and the 'light division'.
    10.00am One division.
    11.00am One division.

All units must enter in march formation down the Plank Road.

Union artillery may bombard from off table (measure the range from the table edge and add 6"). Only artillery attached to divisions 'on table' may fire from 'off table'.

The artillery from the Union lead division may fire a 'pre game' bombardment. Each turn of pre game bombardment delays the entry of all troops by one turn (remember - the clock is running!).

This scenario ends when either the Union 'take the heights' or the Confederates leave the table.

The Union then advance to Salem Church.
