Eagles Of The Gulf
Part II (Subpart A)

Scenario: EOG-20:
Race to Refidim! 8 October 1973

by J.D. Webster

Background

SU-7BMK Fitters were used in abundance by the Egyptians and Syrians for deep strikes against IAF airfields and Israeli army staging areas. As such, they had mixed success, sometimes inflicting much damage, but mostly taking heavy losses from Israeli defenses. Egyptian Fitters, which attacked the IAF airfield at Refidim, had to face fast scrambling IAF Neshers and missile defenses. Two of the SU-7s were lost to Neshers.

If the EWR is destroyed, the SAM unit may not fire or guide missiles at any EAF aircraft which has an IAF aircraft within 6 hexes and 3 altitude levels of it. If the CCU is hit or suppressed, the EWR passdown function is not allowed and the ILO number of the Hawk fire unit is changed to 3.

5. Optional rules: Fuel: Su-7 start = 165, bingo = 90. Neshers 1, 2 start = 380, bingo = 20, Neshers 3, 4 = 210, bingo = 20. Pilot quality: Su-7 = R, R, N, R, R, N. Neshers = all R. Su-7 pilots 1, 3 have Excellent confidence. Nesher pilot #2 is Sierra Hotel.
