Uniform

The uniform was identical for all four regiments. It was a green pelisse with white flannel lining, white lace, black fur trim and five rows of silver buttons. The dolman was green with scarlet collar and cuffs; braiding and buttons as above. Hungarian breeches of red cloth with white braid were worn, but overalls were green with scarlet stripes and 18 bone buttons. The sash was crimson with white barrels. The boots had black trim and tassel. Distinctions of rank were silver and all lace and braid was silver for officers. Although Imperial livery was ordered, trumpeters seem to have worn a scarlet dolman and pelisse with white braid and green collar and cuffs. The usual sky-blue and crimson of the Guard cannot be ruled out, however.

Headdress

All regiments wore a red shako with white lace upper band and black leather lower band. The eagle plate (with the regimental number cut out) and chin-chains were silver-plated. The full-dress cords were white and a pompon of company colour was surmounted by a green plume with a tip in red for the 1st Regt, blue for 2nd, yellow for 3rd, white for 4th. Senior officers wore colpacks with scarlet bags piped and tasselled silver.

Equipment

This was generally as for the hussars of the Line, being white belts and plain black pouch. The sabretache was also black but bore a silverplated eagle and regimental number. Armament consisted of a brasshilted sabre with white knot and steel scabbard, and a carbine. The cavalry greatcoat was green. White sheepskin shabraques (black for trumpeters) with green wolf-tooth trim and a green cylindrical valise with white trim and regimental number. Officers had green shabraques with silver trim and eagles.
