Lanciers de Berg Upon their entry into the Guard, the regiment retained their uniform of chasseur cut, in green with amaranth collar, cuffs, turnbacks and piping to lapels and shoulder straps. A similarly coloured surtout was also worn. Buttons were pewter. An amaranth shako with white bands was adopted, it had a brass lozenge plate stamped with an eagle, red within white cockade and white plume. In 1812 a lancer jacket was adopted, of the same colours as before, and an amaranth-topped czapka with white piping. The elite company wore a black colpack with amaranth bag, scarlet plume and epaulettes with both uniforms. Belts were white, the lance had an amaranth over white pennon. Grey or green buttoned overalls with amaranth piping or stripes on campaign. White sheepskin shabraques with amaranth wolftooth trim and valise were used. Trumpeters had green-topped czapkas, white epaulettes, yellow and green 'Imperial' lace trim, and black sheepskins. Tartares Lithuaniens The original uniform consisted of a green jacket with scarlet collar and cuffs, yellow shoulder straps and lace trim. Over this was worn a scarlet waistcoat with yellow trim. The oriental trousers were green with a scarlet stripe were worn with ankle-boots. These were yellow for officers. The head-dress was a shako with a green scarlet-trimmed bag attached, and a yellow turban wrapped around it; a crescent and three stars in brass decorated the front. In 1813 a new uniform began to be adopted, consisting of a scarlet jacket, yellow waistcoat and blue trousers, worn with a black colpack (green white-trimmed bag, scarlet plume). White belts were worn to support a black pouch and the sabre. Officers carried a scimitar. In addition, a dagger, brace of pistols and a lance with red over green pennon was carried.
