The coat was blue (medium or dark), with the same characteristics as the infantry-coat. During the W.A.S. lapels were introduced. All facings are red, turnbacks being shown by the end of the war, but not with the officers. Waistcoat and breeches are blue for the men and red for the officers. Tricorns are the same as for infantry, with yellow lace for the men and gold for the officers. In 1745 white (in Winter black) gaiters are introduced. Officers wear an orange sash over their right shoulder. They probably did still wear gold lace along the front of the coat (without lapels), the cuffs and the pockets. FIG. G shows the uniforms by the end of the W.A.S. for an artillery-officer and a gunner.Information on the dress of the other services, e.g. the miners, engineers and pontonneers, I haven't discovered yet.
