English Heritage is very good at organising very enjoyable and informative re-enactments of all periods of history. One of their major Napoleonic events for this year will be staged at Battle Abbey, East Sussex on the 5th and 6th May. Visitors will be able to experience a spectacular slice of history with recreation of action from the Peninsular War. The battle will feature the massed ranks of British redcoats, greenjackets and dragoons battling against French fusiliers, chasseurs and lancers. Culminating in a spectacular battle at 3pm each day, enjoy many other entertainments including the large living history encampments with displays of 19th century campaign life.
