This Study Day will take place at The Wallace Collection, Hertford House, Manchester Square, London on 20th April. The Wallace Collection owns a number of fine 18th century European swords and staff-weapons and this event will focus on the weapons and tactics of the 18th century British soldier, but will also look at the arms of his enemies, especially the French. The weapons available for handling will include original Short and Long Land Pattern Brown Bess flintlock muskets, as well as swords, pistols and staff-weapons of the period. Speakers will include David Edge of the Wallace Collection and Philipp Elliott-Wright.
