We are half way through the Nelson Decade, and there are many events planned to commemorate the life of this great naval hero. The Royal Naval Museum at Portsmouth is organising The Nelson Weekend in February. This will consist of a series of talks and tours that examine in detail Nelson, the Royal Navy and the battles of the Nile and Trafalgar. The programme is: Friday 9th - Private view of the Museum’s new exhibition: Horatio Nelson: The Hero and the Man; followed by a lecture entitled Britannia’s Bulwarks- The Ships, Men and Operations of Nelson’s Navy.
