University of Southampton This will be a major event for next year, and is being organised to encourage scholarly work on all aspects of Wellington's career. The congress will include formal presentations of academic papers, workshop sessions on research in progress, presentations on the Wellington Papers and conservation, exhibitions, a dinner on board HMS Warrior at Portsmouth and a visit to the Duke's home at Stratfield Saye. I note that the large list of Speakers includes Charles Esdaile, Ian Fletcher, Peter Hofschroer, Donald Horward, David Markham, Julia Page, Stephen Petty, to name but a very few. The range of subjects to be covered is huge and examines just about every aspect of Wellington and his times.
