The Khaki (mid-brown) tunic which was long and flared in native dress fashion. This was worn in all uniform variations but the Guard dress style. They had red shoulder straps and some sources report collar patches with black unit numbers in them. In some cases the headdress was the British steel helmet during World War One but the French Adrian helmet was worn in Russia and Asia Minor. Many photos show the Evones wearing a national floppy (as opposed to the Turkish stiff fez) khaki fez. The men removed a black tassel except for guard duties. In the photos the men wore white leggings or khaki puttees. In some cases they wore the infantry trousers. The leather equipment was the same as other troops. Equipment varied from captured Bulgarian rifles in World War One to French rifles in Russia and Asia Minor. Photos show some men carrying French Light machine guns in Asia Minor. The Bulgarians in World War One wore the German supplied uniform in the field grey color. The Allies wore uniforms associated with their armies during the war. The Russian Red Army wore a variety of uniforms based upon availability and unit style. Their French and Roumanian Allies wore the same pattern of uniform as they wore during World War One. The Turkish Troops during World War One and the Turkish War of Independence (Asia Minor War) wore the same uniform. The unique pith helmet was common. Photos of Turkish troops also show a number of Irregular troops wearing native dress.
