Pg 25-6. Filipino troops are shown training with mortars and AT-guns. They wear the pre-war British style helmets

Pg 49. Japanese troops in Shanghai China wearing protective masks. Pg 55. A closeup of an artillery gun shows that they to were sometimes nicknamed. This one is "SNAFU" which is printed in multi-colored script (red?) The barrel is also camoflauge painted.

Pg 63. A Free French flags flies from the stem of this boat while a normal triclor flies from the main yardarm. The Free French flag is the classic Early Napoleonic Diamond pattern with the Free French symbol in the center white square.

Pg 71, 117. New Zealand troops are shown in shorts and wearing a version of the Montana hat. Some are carrying British style steel -helmets. The small landing craft from which they are leaving is numbered "94' and nicknamed "Little Chic".

Pg 152-53. Photos show Commonwealth troops in action on new Guinea. One shows Bren carriers and the other shows M3 Honeys with British unit markings. The lead tank has on the turret "12" circled with the nickname "Carry" printed above it. The rear tanI has "5" in a square. A soldier wearing an Australian hat is on the second vehicle and a man wearing a British helmet is by the first tank.

Pg 202. Two US M3/5 ? tanks show unit numbers on the turret. They are "41" and "40". The other photo shows a Japanese tank which the Rising Sun flag on the turret. Pg 226. Two Shermans are shown equipted with deep water gear. Both have hugh white stars painted on the turret and on the front and side of the hull. One has the number "13" in front of the turret star. The other has the number "19" and the nickname "Lightning"' painted on it.

Pg 244, A LVT (4) with the number "50" in dark paint located centered on the front of the crew compartment guard. The nickname "Tokyo Rose" is painted on the lower part of the front hull.

Pg 279. A rare picture of US troops firing a captured Japanese artillery gun.

Pg 314. A M4 Sherman has the number "6" on the turret and the nickname "Powerhouse Pepper" printed on the flat part of the hull.'s side.

Pg 32 1. US Army troops with their helmets are painted in a two color jagged pattern.

Pg348. A M4 Sherman has a hugh star painted on the back deck of the hull. It extends from near the turret ring to the end of the hull.

Pg 367. Filipino guerrillas are shown using US and captured Japanese equipment. They wear boony hats and british style helmets. Pg 392. US3/4trucks are shown equipped with rocket launcers.

Pg 427. Chinese troops on the march are wearing both the Nationalist style cap and hugh straw woven peasant style hats.

Pg 432. US M4 Shermans and M5 Stuarts are manned by Chinese troops. The paint scheme (or dust) gives the tanks a very light color.
