NOTES FOR CONFEDERATE ORDER OF BATTLE: SHILOH, APRIL 6, 1862
1. The total number of combat or unit stands required to represent the Rebel forces under the regimental system is 133. This number breaks down into: 26 Leader/Command stands; 77 Infantry stands; 21 Artillery stands and 9 Cavalry stands.
2. In the Daniel text, the artillery for Stephen's 2nd Brigade was listed as Stanford's Mississippi Battery. This was problematic, as the same battery is attached or listed for the 2nd Brigade of the 1st Division of Polk's Corps. The Osprey book lists Smith's Mississippi Battery as the guns supporting Stephen's infantry. Though already built, the troop stand identifier was corrected from "attached artillery to Smith's.
3. Due to the combined-arms nature of most Confederate Brigades, the smallish cavalry contingents are represented by individual stands and are not "combined" as were Union horse.
