Turn results for 3-5-00General Wesley and the Bey negotiate a peace treaty that ends the war. The Bey's terms are accepted without amendment. An Anglo-French financial commission is set up. French (who were already in the city) and Turkish troops (the Bey's regulars) patrol the city. The British hold the Maghrib gate. Ali Baba is declared an out law and 3 battalions of the Bey's regulars come out to join the British in a campaign against the Arab bandit. Results for 3-9-00As the people realize the British are not shelling the city the Bey's newly won peace sinks in. Most people breath a sigh of relief. A few think the Bey has sold out but they keep quiet due to the presence of British, French, German and even Austrian gun boats in the harbor! For the moment the Bey is popular. When the Mullah Amad learns of Ali Baba's "Fatwah". He declares it invalid. This causes a debate amongst the Ulema (the Mufti (chief mosque officer), Mullahs (teachers), Cadis (judges) and Sheiks (tribal leaders) of the land. Who is correct? Is there a Jihad? Or is their peace? This is a power struggle between Amad and Ali Baba for the control of the "Islamic Institution". As tensions ease in Dar as Salaam city, a grand ball is held in the French Embassy. Everyone who is anyone is there. Of note is the meeting of Evelyn "Premla" Peters and the Austrian Naval Captain von Trapp. Romance is in the air!
