Plana Mayor and Infantry

PLANA MAYOR

Art. 6.

The Plana Mayor is composed of

    Generals of Division
    Generals of Brigade
    Generals Brigadieres ( Brigadier Generals )

INFANTRY

Art. 17.

In time of peace the Army is composed; 28 Battalions with 4 Cuadros de Batallon and 2 Regional Companies, these last two organisations appear to me to be basically militia or reserve type units, each company having 54 privates although these can be increased to 110 privates when placed onto a reduced footing (Batallon en pie reducido). The Regional Companies are called "Compañía Fija Norte de la Baja California" and " Compañía Fija Sur de la Baja California" each company has 108 privates. Each Battalion is composed of 4 Companies.

Art. 18.

Each Battalion can be made into a Peace Footing (Pie Reducido) or a War Footing (Alta Fuerza);

Each Company is divided into 3 Sections, each section has 2 Platoons, and each Platoon has 3 squads, each squad is commanded by a Corporal.

Art. 21.

At time of War the Battalions are transformed into Regiments of 2 Battalions in each.

Art. 216.

In time of War each Battalion is duplicated to form a Regiment of 2 Battalions, the Colonel remains in command of the Regiment and the 1st Battalion. The Lieutenant Colonel commands the 2nd Battalion.
