The two TOCs at the division headquarters are the Division Main headquarters (M577) and the Jump Main headquarters (5-ton "Expandovan"). One of these is always active while the other is not functional while displacing forward. 2. The mech battalions of thelst and 3d Armored Divisions did not take their Antiarmor ("Echo") companies to the Gulf. 3. The scout platoon of 4-70 AR consisted, in real world terms, of 3 M113A2 and 3 M901AL 4. The 1-35, 3-35, and 2-70 Armor most probably did not have the M3 scout platoon that they are listed with above. They probably had an M113/ITV platoon or a HMMWV platoon similar to that of 1-37 Armor. In the absence of firm information, they are left with the "standard" M3 platoon. 5. The M1A1 Mod is a sort of poor man's M1A1 (HA), created in theater by welding additional plates of non-depleted uranium armor to the front slopes of the turret. The M1A1 Mod was known to some as the "Ma and Pa Kettle Heavy Metal" M1A1 6. D Company, 1-37 Armor was a company that had been training as a group to compete in the 1991 Canadian Army Trophy (CAT) competition. Treat D/1 -37 as Elite quality. 7. 1 HMMWV 3 M270 MLRS/ATACMS 3 HEMTT with HEMAT trailer ammo vehicles C Battery (Target Aquisition), 28th Field Artillery as E Battery, 333d FA (210th Field Artillery Brigade) Notes 1. At the opening of the ground war, the 75th FAB was supporting the 1st Infantry Division. The brigade was released by the lstID at 1300 on the 25th, and linked up with the 1st Armored Division at 1600 on the 26th. 2. The Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) was tested in the field during the Gulf War. It was used for deep strike missions against enemy air defense, command and control, and other high-value targets, and was not under the control of the battlefield commanders. ATACMS launchers were normal MLRS SPLLs (self-propelled loader-launchers) that were modified to take an ATACMS pod (with one 610 mm ATACMS missile) in place of an MLRS rocket pod (six 227 mm M77 rockets). ATACMS-capable SPLLS were able to switch back and forth between the two systems as necessary, but this was time-consuming. For this reason, units equipped with ATACMS kept one platoon loaded with ATACMS, and two platoons with MLRS so that they would be able to respond on a moment's notice to either requirement. 142d Field Artillery Brigade (Arkansas National Guard), "Answers the Call," with:

The 158th was from the Oklahoma National Guard, the only MLRS unit in the Guard at the time. Kits were sent to SWA to convert a battery of SPLU to ATACMS-capable, but only two of these were installed before the war ended, on vehicles of the 1-158th.
