Gallia

15mm Seven Years War

review by Ken Bunger

Another range of 15mm figures of the Seven Years War has been released by a UK firm. Gallia Reproductions has long produced a wide range of superb buildings, and both ancient and colonial 15mm figures. The first of the SYW range are the Prussians, and a very nice lot they are. The range includes PR1 grenadier advancing, PR2 grenadier firing, PR3 grenadier drummer, PR4 grenadier officer, PR5 jaeger advancing, PR6 jaeger firing, PR9 mounted jaeger, PR14 fusilier advancing, PR15 fusilier officer and PR16 fusilier drummer.

The figures are finely detailed with very distinctive faces and should delight the better painters out there. The buttons are all in bas-relief and easily painted. The advancing grenadier and jaeger are really in an historically accurate marching position. The figures are the same height as Heritage, but stockier. The jaeger's coat is a little long, but with its boots and front cartridge pouch, the marching jaeger is perfect for the five regiment Russian Corps of Observation.

Recommended Rating: Anatomy.5, Animation.9, Detail .9, Paintability .7, Casting .7, Total: 3.7. Gallia Reproductions are available either from the U.K. 21/23 Boston Rd Holbeach, Spalding Lincolnshire, PEIZ7LR or S-G Simulations Inc., 760 N. Indian Rocks Road, Belleair Bluffs, FL 33540. Both locations take credit cards.
