Colonial wargamers who play with 15mm figures have been pretty much limited to playing the traditional British Colonial campaigns until Stone Mountain released their new range of 15mm Colonial figures. Stone Mountain has come to the rescue with a very extensive range of French Foreign Legionnaires and Arabs. The figures are marketed in unit-sized packages for use with Yaquinto's THE SWORD AND THE FLAME rules. Stone Mountain offers special discounts if you purchase complete armies; $22 for the French and $32 for the Arabs, or $50 for both! The French Army contains 78 figures and the Arab Army contains 125 figures. The "package" deal also includes plans for a 15mm French fort and a rules sheet with the French/Arab variations for TSATF. The figures are loaded with detail and action. The French all have full equipment and rifles with fixed bayonets. The Arabs have a variety of dress and facial features (some with beards, etc.). The horses and camels are well- scaled and detailed. I especially liked the pack camel being led by the Arab on foot. I question the watercooled Vickers machine gun ... I think the French would have more likely used a Hotchkiss. Nevertheless, this is an excellent range of 15mm Colonial miniatures and they are most welcome by the 15mm Colonial wargame figure consumer.
