25mm Swashbucklers

reviewed by Jay Hadley

This new line of 25mm figures sold under the name of SWORDPLAY is based upon the soldiers, dandies and villains that populate the swashbuckler classics dedicated to the times and troubles of the Sun King... Louis of France. These figures are ideal for the gamer that wants to put togethersmall groups for fighting skirmish games of the period or to have a general knock-down drag out duel.

The animation of the figures lend themselves to limited action and one on one confrontations. In fact, this line is limited to just that concept. Although they look very nice when painted they do suffer some serious anatomical problems with somewhat elongated limbs being the rule rather than the exception. Not a bad line, however, in a period that has been somewhat neglected.

RATING: Animation,.8, Anatomy,.3, Detail.4, Casting Quality,.7, Variety, .5, Total: 2.6.
