The sole importer of figures from Naismith Design in England. Naismith is rapidly becoming the most prolific company producing 15mm and 25mm figures today. Three new 15mm lines have come to us for review: Medieval, Napoleonic and ACW. The Medieval line may be their best to date with an incredible amount of detail packed into each piece. The posing is also outstanding and they seem to have conquered the problems they had producing a good horse. There are still some additions needed to the line especially ordinance, but still a superior effort. RATING: Animation, .9, Anatomy, 1.0, Detail 1.0, Casting Quality, 1.0, Variety, .8, Total: 4.7. The Napoleonic line is new and still in its early stages. As is the case with the Napoleonic period, variety of line cannot be achieved overnight. The figures themselves have the typical Enola character but do not fall down in some areas. The Grenadier and Voltigeur are identical although they are advertised as two separate numbers. There is also some distortion in the detail work and a bit more flash than we are accustomed to seeing in Enola products. RATING: Animation,.7, Anatomy,.8, Detail.8, Casting Quality,.7, Variety, .3, Total: 3.3. Last year Naismith put on the market a line of ACW figures which then proceeded to disappear. They have now returned to the market placeand are certainly welcomed. These figures are exciting and each has its share of personality. The problem with the ACW period is that after awhile everything tends to look the same. Naismith has gotten around this problem by giving each figure its own special touch which brings lifeto an otherwise repetitive subject. RATING: Animation,.9, Anatomy,.9, Detail.8, Casting Quality,.9, Variety, .8, Total: 4.5. More Reviews
