Donnington Miniatures

15mm lines

reviewed by Jay Hadley

When an English manufacturer produces a range of figures it is covered... top, bottom and side to side. Donnington happily carries on this tradition with a 15mm line covering several periods: Roman/Celts, Norman Conquest, ACW and some figures that every Byzantine army should have - Magyars and Pechanegs. The range of subjects within a period are exceptional and the figures themselves are nicely animated. I was especially impressed with the Celtic warriors and the other samples I have seen are not far behind in quality. Some of the detail does seem hurried and the casting quality whole acceptable could be better, but everything considered a nice addition to a growing number of quality English firms.

RATING: Animation,.7, Anatomy,.7, Detail.6, Casting Quality,.5, Variety, .9, Total: 3.4.
