Just in from Cannon Fodder are two packs of modern troops. The first is SF1 US Army Special Forces Operational Detachment – Delta while the second is SFE1 African Clan Militia. I received four samples of each type though the sales literature cites 11 different variants for the Clan Militia and a like number for the Special Forces troops. Cannon Fodder would appear to be approaching 15mm moderns in a themed sort of way, as their next releases will be US Rangers and Afghan Militia. Sometimes the figure variations are in actual pose; other times two figures will differ only by the presence of a LAW on one’s back or the fact that one wears night vision goggles and the other doesn’t. All figures measure 16.5M Barrett and are cleanly cast. Poses are restrained, equipment looks scale and is cleanly cast (the standing Clan RPG gunner resting his weapon is particularly nice), and anatomical proportions are right. The price is right, too. The figures come bagged at 10 for $3.24 US, 30 for $8.10 US, or a mortar and two crew for $1.35 US. Shipping, if you order from the makers, is 30% air and 20% surface post. These may be available from your local game shop but, if not, order them directly from Cannon Fodder Miniatures, at Cannon Fodder Miniatures, PO Box 786, Bendigo, Victoria, 3550 Australia. Don’t be put off by their location; for some reason, mail between Australia and the USA is amazingly fast! Visit them at their website, too, at http://www.canfodmins.com. Recommended.
