Featherstone Honored

by GAMA

Don Featherstone added one more plaque to many awards with his election to the GAMA Hall of Fame at Origins this year. GAMA - The Game Manufacturers Association- are the owners and organizers of the yearly Origins Gaming Conventions. Other historical items figuring in the Origins Awards include: Best Historical Figure Series: Medievals mfg. by Soldiers and Swords and sculpted by Robert Perez. There is also a Product Hall Of Fame the inductees were Ace of Aces by Nova Games and Diplomacy by Games Research Inc. now owned by The Avalon Hill Co.. All other categories that could have been equally won by Historical and Fantasy/Sci-Fi entrants were won by others than historical miniature companies. I believe that this is die to the small voting block represented by Historical gamers. The cate-gories were Best Vehicular Series won by Battle tech; Best Miniature Rules won by Warhammer 40000 2nd edition, and Best Accessory won by Destiny Deck.

This voting history shows what a great honor it was for Don to be selected over the Fantasy, Sci-Fi and boardgame nominees. Dick Bryant and Duke Seifreid presented Don with the award at Historicon '94.
