The GEnie BBS, currently the haven of mundane rambling by people with lots oftime on their hands, has recently heated up with a vicious exchange of rhetoric between legendary gaming icon Richard Berg and the aggressive young Joe Youst. Mr. Youst, who has become a major game designer for 3W, and whose interview will soon appear in GameFix, took umbrage to remarks made by Richard Berg regarding the owner of 3W, Keith Poulter. The heated exchange lasted several days, with Mr. Berg reciting the past indiscretions of Mr. Poulter, and Mr. Youst defending his boss to the hilt. This affair was notable, also, in that many of Mr. Berg's defenders were upset with the exchange and spared few words lambasting Joe Youst for attacking him. This exchange, coupled with one on XTR's board, has marked Joe Youst as an up- and-coming designer with little respect for the establishment. (I hope you're wearing black, Joe, the color of the rebel!) [Ed's Note: A flak jacket might also help.] Industry News 1995
