Rumors have it that Keith Poulter is not quite out of the business yet. Apparently he still intends to release one new series of games in the near future. The first will be a series based on the popular Barbarians game called Ancient World. Like the famous Europa series, Ancient World will cover the whole Roman Empire in 10-mile hexes. Current plans call for five games with the first called Invasion: The Roman Conquest of Britain. Invasion will feature 2 maps, 500-600 counters and 40 (honest!) scenarios. The next in the series is tentatively titled Conquest: Romans in Gaul/Spain. It will have four maps, an undetermined number of counters, and we can only guess at the scenarios. This will be followed by a game covering Italy and the Adriatic and African Coast. This next game will concentrate on Roman Civil War battles and frontier wars. If it all pans out, players will be able to combine Conquest and the Italy game and have all the terrain necessary to fight the Punic wars. The next release will be ancient battles in the Mideast, and the series will have six maps that cover the eastern Mediterranean and Persia, Allowing players to fight battles in Persia and Mideast. The final game in the series will be Greece and Egypt, giving players the opportunity to fight the early battles. In addition to this massive game, Keith intends to introduce a tactical battle system that will allow players to fight it out on the Legion level. Apparently, Keith also intends to continue the East Front series, which was started with Vance von Borries' East Front Battles I. Industry News 1995
